1945 Softwater Service was founded by J. D. “Jack” Johnson, Jr.

1946 We added Elgin commercial units, selling to laundries.

1947 We added Lindsay units; today we are the oldest Lindsay EcoWater dealer in the United States.

1949 We became members of the Water Quality Association.

1972 We started selling pool chemicals at our store. The FIRST chemical dealer in Ponca City, OK.

1981 We opened Pool Services.

1988 We changed our company name to Quality Water Services, a division of Softwater Service, Inc.

1988 We installed our own bottled water plant and sold the product under Just Squeezed™ water.

1990 We became an IBWA member.

1991 We changed our name to Quality Pools & Spas, which is a division of Softwater Service, Inc.

1993 We introduced Cowboy Springs™

1993 Opened our DI plant and started selling DI equipment to a National Photo lab.

1993 Downing Johnson purchased the present location at 115 East Highland Avenue.

1994 Opened the Stillwater, OK location.

1998 We became an PMA member.

2004 Opened a new 5,400 square foot processing facility to meet our expanded bottled water market sales.

2005 On March 31, 2005 J. Downing Johnson was presented the Water Quality Association's highest honor, the Lifetime Member Award.

2006 Welcomed Quality Water Services of Ark City, KS to the family.

2006 Downing Johnson was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from EcoWater™ Systems.
